Update: Daniel Cormier taking on Frank Mir

Despite Dana White hating Tim Sylvia, I knew he wasn’t nasty enough to feed him to Daniel Cormier.

Early reports stated that the Black Fedor would be taking on Tim Sylvia under the Strikeforce banner.  Instead, the UFC will send Frank Mir to face the Strikeforce heavyweight champion.  Great move by Zuffa and if Cormier wins, he will legitimately have a case to fight the UFC heavyweight champ, Junior Dos Santos.

UFC 146: 3 HUGE FIGHTS

Let’s just call UFC 146 the battle of the big boys.  The UFC announced three blockbuster heavyweight fights today with serious title implications for UFC 146.

First, UFC Heavyweight champ, Junior Dos Santos will be fighting the human superhero Alistair Overeem at UFC 146, on May 26th, in Vegas.  These two behemoths will be putting on a striking clinic for us common folk come May 26th.

Next, for the rights to fight the winner of JDS/Reem, will be Cain Velasquez vs. Frank Mir.  Cain is coming off a brutal TKO at the hands of the Dos Santos on UFC on FOX 1, and Frank Mir is coming off an epic submission win against Big Nog.  Big Nog has never been submitted before in his illustrious career, and Mir definitely has more momentum going into this fight.

Lastly, Big Country Roy Nelson takes on Big Foot Antonio Silva.  Silva was last seen getting his butt whooped by Daniel Cormier in Strikeforce, but Big Foot says he has learned from his mistakes.  Big Country also got a pretty bad beat-down by Fabricio Werdum in his last fight.  Big Foot hold a clear size advantage over Big Country, and that could be the difference in this fight.  Big Country has been campaigning for people to “Like” his facbeook page, and if he gets 250,000 likes, he will drop to the 205 lbs division.  Regardless of this campaign, Big Country belongs at 205.  Move down fatboy!

Big Nog’s broken arm

This is an X-ray of Big Nog’s broke arm after Frank Mir brutally snapped it yesterday.
