UFC 153 saved! Anderson Silva vs. Stephan Bonnar on tap

Anderson Silva, fresh off signing a global deal with Nike, will face Stephan “The American Psycho” Bonnar at UFC 153.  MMA nerds everywhere groaned the other day when we heard that both Jose Aldo Jr and Rampage Jackson would be too injured to participate at UFC 153 Rio.

Well, Silva has come to save the day. Although this is a low risk, high reward fight, we should all still give him his props for stepping to plate (unlike another champion in the UFC).  On paper this is an extremely easy fight for Anderson.  Bonnar does not possess to the speed to defend Anderson’s laser-like strikes.  This could be a short and painful night for the American Psycho.  Me and MMAnerd contributor, James Inn, witnessed what the Spider did to Forrest Griffin live in Philly at UFC 101.  He knocked Forrest out with a leaning backwards jab!

The only way I see Bonnar standing a chance against Silva would be to push him against the cage and dirty box the Brazilian (that’s what she said).  Can Stephan Bonnar do what Buster Douglas did to Mike Tyson in Tokyo?  Will The American Psycho upset the #1 fighter in the world right now?  We’ll have to wait for UFC 153 Rio to see…

Tea Time with Stephan Bonnar and Forrest Griffin

I love the sense of humors of both these guys.  Wish we could  have a weekly tea time with Bonnar and Griffin.  We’ve come a long way from their bloody war in 2005.
